Depending on how dull and horribly abused your knives and scissors are, your cost is:
Only $5 to $8 per knife. (In most cases.)
$5 minimum for knives with blades five inches long or less.
$1 per blade inch. Example: A kitchen knife with an 8 inch blade costs $8 to sharpen.
Japanese single bevel knives cost $20-$30 depending on complexity and condition.
Scissors cost $10 each.
