California's New Ammunition Background Check Law

HOW DOES IT ALL WORK? If you have completed a DROS (bought a firearm) within the past 5 years and you are living at the same address that is listed on your driver's license, simply come into our store and purchase ammunition like normal and pay a $3 eligibility check fee. $1 goes to the DOJ and $2 to GG for completing the 23 step background process.

If you have moved or your address and/or name does not match exactly, You must update your records through the DOJ's system.

If you have not completed a DROS (bought a firearm) within the past 5 years, visit our store to perform a "Basic Eligibility Check". This process takes up to 10 days and costs $19. This will allow you to purchase ammunition one time within a 30 day period after you're approved.

TRANSFERRING AMMUNITION INTO OUR STORE
We accept ammo transfers from out-of-state vendors. Our transfer fee is $25 per shipping box.
Please Note: We do not call customers to pick up ammunition transfers. Please see instructions below.

1. Purchase your ammo from an online vendor.
2. If your online vendor does not have a copy of our FFL (Federal Firearms License) they can email us at sales@guntherguns.com to request a copy.
3. Once you have "Delivery Confirmation" from your vendor that your ammo has arrived at our facility,
   we ask that you wait two (2) business days before coming in to do your ammo background check and pick up.
